Katie & Adam @ the Herreshoff Marine Museum

As soon as Kendall and I pulled up to the Herreshoff for Katie and Adam’s wedding we turned to each other for an “OMG!” (yes, we talk in text messages even without our iphones!) For those not down with the lingo… that means “oh my god!” And that really was the only way to sum it up! The tent looked unbelievable. It was hung with Japanese lanterns and every detail had an ocean theme from the starfish place cards to the lobster bibs, and centerpieces. The weather was perfection and the sky was filled with these dramatic fluffy clouds. Katie and Adam were married on the pier overlooking the ocean. Though the ceremony was emotional, it was finished off with a bit of comic relief. The couple had planned to walk their recessional to the Shrek song, but Katie’s mom took their love for the movie one step further and had Shrek and Fiona masks made for each guest which were left on their seats for them to hold up as the couple made their way down the aisle! Hilarious! Love it.

The tastiest clam/lobster bake (plus chicken, bbq beef, corn, and strawberry shortcake etc. etc.) was provided by B&M Clam Bake – absolutely DELICIOUS food and Lukes DJ had the crowd on the dance floor all night.

The bridal party and parent speeches were incredibly touching and a testament to how special and indispensable this couple is to their network of family and friends. We could sense that the two networks were being married just as much as these individuals were, and everyone was both happy and excited to see it happen. Thats what makes the pictures, people, raw joy. Nothing else can compare.

Anyways, here are a few shots…enjoy!
