Elizabeth and Kevin fascinated me from the start. Elizabeth is perfectly poised, articulate, and a true lady. Kevin is an absolute sweetheart (is there a more manly term I could use there which would convey the same meaning?) he’s unfailingly supportive of Elizabeth, and incredibly chivalrous. One of the first things that they explained to me about their wedding was how they wished for the focus to remain on the ceremony and ultimately the incredible commitment that they were making to each other. Fascinating! Not that most couples aren’t focused on their ceremonies, but there was something really special in having it said outright like that. Refreshing, really. I guess it’s just so easy to get caught up in tulle, music, place cards, and favors … overlooking the real reason for all that fluff! Definitely not so for this couple.
Their wedding was also really cool because it was something of a parade of my former clients… Elizabeth was a bridesmaid in Kelley’s wedding last year, and I also shot Elizabeth’s friend Kara’s wedding! It was so fun to see a lot of the same faces. Good times!
Elizabeth’s gown, veil and style choices were just like her, classic and elegant. The bridesmaids wore navy blue with hot pink pashmina’s for a dash of color… and… I just happened to have a matching hot pink umbrella in my car in case of rain which we managed to work in to a few shots, eventhough the rain held off for us ; )
The reception was HUGE fun! There was a glove tribute to Michael Jackson, a Nolan family traditional dance involving hundreds of crazy colored feather boas, some vintage dance moves, and the brilliant chair flip from Risky Business! All in all, a seriously fun reception!
Eliz & Kevin – I couldn’t be happier for you both! A million congrats and cheers to the years to come ; )
